In December we had a cold snap here in Portland. For about a week we had high temperatures that hovered around freezing, and low temperatures in the teens. A lot of our plants out front were definitely worse for the experience. One of the Daphne bushes in particular lost about 80 percent of its leaves, and I was wondering if it would survive. Well, it turns out that it will.

All the branches that for a while were so naked are now covered in new growth!

And the Daphne is starting to bloom!
