Daphne in Bloom

In December we had a cold snap here in Portland. For about a week we had high temperatures that hovered around freezing, and low temperatures in the teens. A lot of our plants out front were definitely worse for the experience. One of the Daphne bushes in particular lost about 80 percent of its leaves, and I was wondering if it would survive. Well, it turns out that it will.

Good Weekend

I had a good weekend! It just seemed like everything kept going my way:

• I finished my brown sweater: the buttons are sewn on, and I'm actually wearing it today! (No pictures of it yet, though.)
• We had a date night: Dinner at the St. John's Pub, and a movie at the St. John's Theater. We saw "It's complicated" which was really funny.
• I found the 2010 planner that I bought last November that I've been looking for since the beginning of the year!
• And perhaps most importantly: I passed the Professional Engineer Exam! I am now Brianne Craig Pickett, PE !

Sprocket Photo Shoot

Sprocket is getting big. We weighed him last night, and he weighs 62 lbs. That means he has more than doubled in size since we got him!Brianne and Sprocket

I made David a new hat this year. He wore it to the dog park on Sunday. Isn't he cute?!

Bath Time

Sprocket is not so fond of baths, but he's getting better at it. I think that he looks kind of silly all covered in suds!
