Boeuf Bourguignon

Over the weekend, David and I watched the movie "Julie and Julia", and then made Boeuf Bourguignon.  Boeuf Bourguignon is a beef stew from Julia Child's cookbook Mastering the Art of French Cooking.
.
I even remembered to take a "before" picture!
.
It was very tasty, but also very time consuming.  Once you stick it in the oven, it has to cook for 2.5 to 3 hours.  It's a good think that we made this on a weekend, rather than a week night!

Mary and Sprocket

Two weekends ago Lacy and Mary came over for lunch.  Mary loves Sprocket, they play fairly nicely together.

Photography Show at Atomic Pizza

.
As most of you know, outside of work David does photography, so we are very excited to announce…

A showing at Atomic Pizza for the month of March!  Atomic Pizza is located at 2150 N. Killingsworth Street.  Stop by and check it out if you get a chance! http://www.atomic-pizza.com/
.
We are having an "opening" this Wednesday, March 3rd, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.  We're going to get a few pizzas, and a pitcher or two of beer.  If you're free we hope that you can attend!

Spring Garden

Things are starting to sprout in the garden. Here's the apple tree with leaves starting to sprout.
. .
The raspberry vines are putting on leaves, too.
.
.
The raspberries are also sending up shoots!

Knit Lace Scarf

I just finished knitting my blue lace scarf. I've been wanting to try making a triangular lace scarf for a while, but I thought that it would take a long time, and be really difficult.
. .
It turned out to be much easier than I anticipated! I started this scarf about 2 weeks ago, finished knitting on Tuesday, blocked it on Wednesday, and now I'm actually wearing it!
.
.
Here's a picture of the scarf blocking.
.
.
Hooray!

Polyjuice Potion

When I was making dinner last night I looked down into my mixing bowl and realized that at this step in the process dinner looked a lot like Polyjuice Potion, from the Harry Potter books.

Yum.

Sprocket

Sprocket is getting pretty big.
.
.
But he's still a happy puppy. Look at his wagg-a-ly tail!
